Cordless Barcode Scanner
The Honeywell 3820 linear image barcode scanner is the perfect tool for light industrial scanning requirements that require mobility. It is a cordless scanner that is equipped with Adaptus technology combined with Bluetooth V1.2 radio wireless connectivity that makes it ideal for mobile barcode scanning applications. The 3820 works perfectly for the mobile workforce in light industrial, retail, distribution and warehousing environments. The 3820 can be moved up to 33 feet away from the base unit and can withstand interference from other wireless equipment due to its Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH). It comes with a replaceable lithium ion battery which when fully charged permits 57000 scans before needing to be charged again. It even allows hands free scan once docked at the base station. The 3820 also has the capability to draw power from mobile equipment for radio and host communications due to its host powered interface and RF link. This makes its mobile functioning superior to any other scanning device.

The Honeywell 3820 barcode scanner provides world-class performance and durability by combining Bluetooth connectivity with Adaptus Imaging Technology. The cable proves to be a limiting factor in certain applications when the operators themselves have to move about for reading bar codes. This also causes inefficiencies and raises concerns about safety. Because of the small length of the cable, the scanner cannot always be taken to an object; instead the object needs to be moved towards the reader. The cordless barcode scanners help the workers do their job with freedom of movement, and they can operate safely and quickly. The Honeywell 3820 is a high-performance wireless scanner with a bunch of features including a comfortable working range of 10 m (33 ft) and a reading range of 61 cm (24 inches) For a good scanner, there are two important concerns: high performance and ability to perform constantly for a longer time without fail. The durability of 3820 is also quite high. Its structure and design are such that it can survive various industrial applications. The 3820 is the result of the commitment of Hand Held Products to create the most robust cable-free readers. With the rugged design and no moving parts, the reader 3820 can easily provide years of smooth service in commercial and retail environments.
Additional Features
Adaptus Imaging Technology: The exclusive imaging technology of Hand Held Products provides a world-class reading range along with an unmatched ability to read damaged or bad-quality barcodes. As in cordless applications the efficiency and safety of the workers are important concerns, both these two features make the product more useful.
Bluetooth v1.2 Class 2 Radio: Including 802.11, it provides a reduced interference in other RF backbones. Use of AFH (adaptive frequency hopping) in v1.2 helps to minimize data collisions in the frequency band 2.4 GHz, and provide a working range of 10 m (33 ft).
The unique design has the following features:
(1) Having about 33 percent smaller footprint than other major competitors, it makes installation simpler and leaves enough counter space for other applications.
(2) More efficient, wireless barcode reading experience with a docked imager through presentation scanning.
(3) RF link and host-powered interface: this Hand Held Products feature enables the 3820 to draw power other portable devices nearby for host and radio communications.
Battery: With full charge, the high-capacity, long-lasting lithium-ion battery can provide normally 57000 scans. The battery can be easily replaced whenever needed.
Durable: The solid-state Hand Held Products imager without any moving part can withstand 1.8 m (6 ft) drops to concrete multiple times.
