The large display has high visibility graphics along with the touch screen facility. It can take 1.5-meter drops and its IP 64 rating reveals its protection against dust and water. Transactions are fast with the wireless communication facilities like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi certified 802.11b/g. These enable full interaction with information systems and the new RF security protocols like WPA and WPA2.

Tests have shown the reliability of the Datalogic Skorpio Gun after several drops, tumbles, and shocks. The unit is encased in rubber and extremely light weight.
Datalogic offers the scanner in two models. One has long range reading capabilities while the other provides a powerful laser reader with “green spot”. The units are designed on an Intel X Scale PXA270 series template. The operating system utilizes a standard Windows CE and Windows Mobile 6.1. Skorpio Gun is permitted to apply all applications offered by Cisco WLAN through the companionable extension CCX V4. Enabled Bluetooth capabilities for wireless usage allow employees the mobility for increased productivity and effortless interfacing with host systems.
